Our Learning

Week 1

Monday 20th April 2020

Hello everyone ,

I hope you’ve all had a wonderful Easter and are all well and safe.

I’ve attached the following home learning activities for tomorrow;

English- Comprehension about the royal family- pg1 and 2. (Challenging text pg4 and pg5)

Arithmetic- See separate attachment for challenging arithmetic.

Maths-Read and write numbers from 1 to 20 in numerals and words. Can be done on the sheet or in your exercise book.

Topic-This week’s topic is around the theme of ‘family’. Today's home learning is for your child to draw a picture of their family. They can paint, colour or collage their pictures.

I have attached this week’s spellings too.

Remember you can access phonic sessions and your reading books on www.activelearn.co.uk.

If you do require any resources sending home and you’ve haven’t already mentioned this to me then please let me know ASAP so we can get these sent out to you this week. Let me know if you have any questions, I’m always happy to help.

Kind regards,

Miss Dawson

Tuesday 21st April 2020

Hello everyone,

I’ve attached the following home learning activities for today.

English- Understanding and using exclamation marks. See the powerpoint attached to help explain what an exclamation mark is. Ask the children do use their ‘Kung fu punctuation’ when reading the sentences. They should be able to do this.

Arithmetic

Maths- Begin with asking children to count to 100. Ask the children read or write in numerals any numbers upto 100. The main focus in Maths today is for children to begin to recognise the place value of numbers beyond 20 (tens and ones/units). I’ve attached a worksheet below. You can write these out in your exercise book.

Topic-Create your own family tree. You can do this in anyway that you like. Look at photographs of your family members and discuss where they would go on a family tree. Have you met everyone? Is there anyone you could interview and find out more about? I would love to see these when they are completed.

Remember you can access phonic sessions and your reading books on www.activelearn.co.uk.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Kind regards,

Miss Dawson (missdawson@primet.lancs.sch.uk)

Have a lovely day and take care.
