Our Learning

United Kingdom - Summer 2

This is the final half term of Year 1. How time has flown by this year and your children have worked hard to learn lots of new things.

Our final topic is 'United Kingdom'. We will be learning about different areas of the UK and linking this to our English text.

In Year 1, we have PE on Mondays and Tuesdays. Please can you ensure that your child has a labelled PE kit at school and a labelled water bottle each day. Water bottles are particularly important as the weather gets warmer!

The Home Learning Menu will be sent home at the start of a topic and can be found at the bottom of this page. There are 6 learning activities linked to our topic and the minimum expectation is that at least one activity is completed and brought into school to share with the class.  Phonics, spellings, common exception words and number bonds should be practised each week including reading and writing them.

Please read daily with your child and sign/comment in their reading log about how they have read/what has been discussed in the text. There is also a page for your child to draw a picture/story map to show what they have read about. Please can you ensure they bring their book bag and reading book/log to school every day.

Thank you again for your support.

We are looking forward to preparing your children for the next step in their Primet Primary School journey.
