Reception Intake September 2020

Welcome to the school and we are delighted that you have chosen Primet Primary School to nurture and educate your child over the next seven years.

We understand that parents have had a difficult time over the past 4 months with the pandemic and as a school we are here to support you in any way we can. We have a number of staff you can contact at any time to discuss any issue you my have.

Staff you may see;

Mr Holmes is the head teacher, who is able to see you about any concerns that you may have.

Mr Ariss is the Deputy head teacher who is available to speak to about teaching and learning.

Miss Gleave is our very experienced reception teacher who you will see daily once your children start coming into school.

Mrs Witts is our School Business Manager and she will advise you with any money or organisational procedures at school. She oversees the office and she can answer any questions or advise you on the workings of the school.

Mrs Rawcliffe supports Mrs Witts in the office and this is the face you will see when you come into the school or hear when you call.

Miss Tyson is our family Support Officer and she can support you with home life and any issues you maybe having outside school. She can offer advise or signpost you to services which may help. Miss Tyson also oversees the safe guarding of children and families in school. She also looks after free school meals and pupil premium applications.

September transition

As a school we take the transition into school very carefully so that your children start school with confidence and are happy. We have decided that we would meet with all our families in September so we can adhere to social distancing guidelines.

You will receive a letter explaining when you are having a meeting in school with Miss Gleave and the other support staff so you can look around the Reception classroom and meet the staff with your child. We are really looking forward to meeting you all. The meetings are being held from Wednesday 2nd September to Thursday 10th September 2020.

At this meeting we will discuss the expectations of school and listen to your concerns or worries about starting school. Please bring in your paper work for starting school to this meeting with the appropriate documents (birth certificate and any medical or social care documentation) so the process can be as smooth as possible. In the pack you received it has a section explaining most of the most frequently asked questions which will help.

On Monday 14th September your children will start school for either a morning or afternoon session for the week.

On Monday 21st September your children will be in school for the whole day.

If you have any concerns or questions about the process please contact school.
