Year 3
Mr Haworth and Miss O'Keefe would like to welcome everyone to Year 3. We are very excited for the action packed year ahead.
In Year 3 we have P.E every Tuesday and Wednesday so remember to have your kit in school.
Homework is to be completed weekly and consist of
- •Practice spellings (Spelling of the word, finding the meaning and using the word in a sentence).
- •Practice times tables (timestables.co.uk is a great website to help with this).
- •Read at home and bring your book bag to school.

As we begin our Autumn Term 2, we are excited to embark on a range of new and engaging topics across the curriculum! In Talk for Writing, we’ll be exploring the Folk tales, The Green Children, The Weeds, and The Night Gardener — developing our creative writing, comprehension, and storytelling skills.
In Science, our focus is on Animals Including Humans, where we’ll investigate how our bodies work by learning about nutrition, nutrients, muscles, and the skeleton.
Our Geography topic takes us to the coldest parts of our planet — The Arctic and Antarctic. We’ll be developing our locational knowledge by identifying the position and significance of key geographical features such as latitude, longitude, the Equator, the Northern and Southern Hemispheres, the Arctic and Antarctic Circles, and the Prime/Greenwich Meridian, as well as exploring time zones and how they affect day and night around the world.
It’s shaping up to be a wonderful half term full of curiosity, creativity, and discovery!
