This half-term, we will be exploring nonsense narrative poems written by British authors. We will enjoy reading imaginative and playful poems, including Jabberwocky by Lewis Carroll, and investigate how poets use invented words, rhythm and descriptive language to create meaning and entertain the reader. As part of our writing, we will create an informative and exciting report about one of the creatures from the poem.

In Geography, we will be learning about Britain's National Parks, with a particular focus on Malham in the Yorkshire Dales. We will explore its unique physical features and discover why it is such a popular visitor destination. As part of our learning, we will visit Malham Cove, which was used as a filming location in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

In Design and Technology, we will be designing and making a packed lunch for a visit to a National Park. We will consider the needs of people spending a day outdoors and select suitable ingredients before preparing and evaluating our finished products.
