At Primet, the Reading Policy outlines the aims and principles of reading, procedures and practice, oracy, fluency and assessment.

Developing fluency and comprehension are key aspects of the teaching of reading as well as fostering a love for reading. To encourage reading, we have developed an award system based on the number of books children read. 

• 10 books = bronze award
• 25 books = silver award
• 50 books = gold award
• 100 books = platinum
