Our summer topic is based on the book Eren, SCP, snippets from the book Wonder and a local study of Colne. This topic extends over the summer term and covers a range of learning opportunities.

English: Children will be using dialogue to set up an opening chapter based on the book Eren. Children will develop their formal writing by writing in the style of an SCP incident report where they will focus on active and passive sentence structures. In preparing for moving to high school, we will be writing self-affirming poetry.

Maths: This half-term, children will be focusing on short maths projects, where they can apply a range of skills.

Geography: Children will learn about their local area focusing on how Colne has changed over time and how it is likely to change over time. This will include fieldwork and visits and research.
