Our phonics teaching follows the Little Wandle Letters and Sounds Revised scheme, a structured, systematic approach that builds confident readers and writers from the very start. The progression is carefully designed to move from early sound awareness through to fluent reading and accurate spelling, ensuring that every child develops secure phonics knowledge step by step. Sounds are introduced in a clear sequence, regularly revisited and applied in reading and writing, so children can practise, consolidate and succeed. Alongside daily phonics lessons, children read fully decodable books that closely match their learning, helping them grow in confidence, accuracy and enjoyment of reading.
