Local Support Services

Please see the list below of various other local services available to offer advice and support at any time for you and your family.

 

DOMESTIC ABUSE SUPPORT

Be Free - PDVI

If you are experiencing Domestic Abuse, including physical abuse, sexual abuse emotional abuse, controlling behaviour, threats, harassment or are subject to forced marriage and honour-based violence from a partner, ex-partner or family member, we can help.

Our office hours are Monday to Friday 9:00pm – 6:00pm, out of hours you can contact us on the Emergency East and Central Lancashire 24 Hour Helpline: 08448 114 350.

If it’s an emergency, or if you or someone else is in immediate danger please call 999.

If you are concerned about someone you know, you can refer them to us by calling us on 01282 726000 or by email to pdvi@p-a-c.org.uk.

 

FAMILY SUPPORT

GP, Health Visitor or School Nurse

 If you have concerns about your child's health and wellbeing or development, discuss it with your GP, health visitor or school nurse. They will be able to advise you on issues such as eating disorders, speech problems, bedwetting, potty training, sleeping problems, establishing a routine, behaviour and tantrums, mental health, emotional health, selfharming, drugs and alcohol, pregnancy and contraception.

 

Children and Family Wellbeing Service  

The Children and Family Wellbeing Service provide services to help with parenting and other support you may need.

Some of this will be in groups and some of this will be with individuals. Some of the services are available to all children or families and others are for those who are in most need of support.

We offer different services across a range of locations to meet the needs of the local community including:

  • Support for individual children, young people or their families
  • Health services – ranging from health visitors to breastfeeding
  • Parenting advice for mums, dads and carers
  • Activities and groups where your baby, toddler or child can play and learn
  • Advice to help you to support your child’s learning from birth
  • A great place to make new friends
  • Connecting with the local community
  • Access to specialist support for families with children with disabilities/additional needs
  • Advice and guidance on how to keep you and your child healthy
  • Sensory rooms
  • Help to access adult learning opportunities
  • Advice on jobs, training and benefits
  • Opportunities for volunteering

Homestart
