The government has again allocated additional funding to schools to improve the provision of PE and sport. We propose to spend the money for 2015-16 in the following ways:

Upgrading existing PE and sports equipment.

Engaging in sports competitions through links with local schools.

Developing the the new PE Curriculum with a greater focus on quality planning and assessment.

Developing our own Cycling Proficiency Programme to be taught in school.

Providing more opportunities for swimming.

Developing wider opportunities for outdoor and adventurous activities.

Setting up Orienteering based activities for the whole school.

In 2014-15 we spent the funding in the following ways:

Employing qualified sports coaches from Pendle Leisure Centre to work with teachers delivering PE with a focus on Gymnastics.

Paying for professional development opportunities for teachers in PE and sport with a focus on gymnastics.

Upgrading existing PE and sports equipment.

Engaging in sports competitions through Pendle Leisure Centre and links with local schools.

Introducing the new PE Curriculum.

In September 2013, the government allocated additional funding to schools to improve the provision of PE and sport in primary schools. At Primet  we spent the money for 2013-14 by employing qualified sports coaches from Pendle Leisure Centre to work with primary teachers when teaching PE, upgrading existing PE and sports equipment and providing opportunities for all Key Stage Two children to engage in unusual sporting activities eg fencing and skateboarding.

We have now successfuly achieved the Sports Games Mark 2015/16.
